The brand was founded by Aliya Chen, an immigrant daughter raised in Hawaiʻi by a single mom from China. Growing up, she rarely saw jewelry that reflected her identity — so she created what she wished existed. Stay Golden is her way of honoring both where she comes from and the island that raised her.
Aliya is hands-on with every part of the design process — from sketching ideas to testing the feel and function of each piece. What began with a jewelry class and a lot of curiosity turned into a deep respect for the craft. She’s endlessly fascinated by the process: the tools, the techniques, the art it takes to bring metal to life.
