Will it turn my skin green?
Nope :) We use high-quality stainless steel and avoid cheap metals like brass, zinc, nickel, alloy, and copper.
Is it real gold?
Pieces listed as gold-plated are coated in 18k gold. Solid gold would cost much more — we focus on balancing quality and affordability.
Is plated jewelry bad?
Only when it’s over cheap metals. Ours is plated over stainless steel for lasting wear.

So in love with this choker. It doesn't poke your skin uncomfortably, or pull your hair. I am gentle with it if I am drying or washing my neck, because it can snag on fabric. Overall it's my most favorite jewelry purchase ever, and I cannot wait to order more necklaces to make a sophisticated stack and then some hoop earrings! I love this brand because I’ve worn my Chinese pendant pretty much everyday for YEARS and it has never tarnished through showers, beach, gym etc.
So because of that confidence in the Stay Golden brand, I invested in this rope chain and I love it!!! Perfect thickness for me, I could see how girls who like dainty jewelry should get the smaller mm but I personally love this 3mm!

I was looking for something I could wear all the time—running, swimming, showering, sleeping—and kept getting ads for Stay Golden HI. The barbed wire choker really caught my eye. I went back and forth wondering if it would be too edgy for my corporate job, but it’s polished and cute, surprisingly not too grungy! It looks so good stacked with other pieces too. It felt weird at first with the pointy bits but I got used to it and never take it off. Maybe someone who is more sensitive to things on their skin would notice it, but I wear jewelry 24/7 so I am not sensitive to it.

I love it! I purchased the Herrigbone Gold/4mm, Bubble Letter Silver, and Thin Rope 22in/Gold/3mm. Needed a chain for one of my pendants and will be purchasing a thinner one for my Hawaiian pendant. Also, thank you for the beautiful mystery necklace! Beautiful pieces! Definitely will be purchasing more jewelry pieces.

I absolutely LOVE this choker. I have a bad scar on my neck and try to cover it by stacking necklaces. I saw this and had to add it to my collection. It is really unique, dainty and cute. I can’t even tell that I’m wearing it, it isn’t spiky. I live at the beach and I’m always active and out boating. I never take my jewelry off. I just rinse it with Dove soap when I’m in the shower. I mix these pieces with a solid gold necklace and a Tiffany necklace. You can’t tell that these aren’t solid gold. I LOVE Stay Golden jewelry.

I bought the 16in thin rope chain to wear my neighbor’s pendant that was passed onto me. I was looking for something sturdy but also would not break the bank and so far the chain has held up and holds my pendant beautifully. It matches with the pendant well and I am happy with the quality of the chain!

This is a great choker length gold chain! I’ve worn it to the beach (no problem). It looks great with an added pendant or by itself. I got the thickest width (3 in) and it’s great.
love this necklace! hasn’t tarnished or turn my neck green. i do kind of have a fatter neck, so this is a little tight for me. i have to put it on the last link to make it so it doesn’t choke me. so i only wear it when i wanna feel edgier than i normally am. still love it and get complimented on it when i do wear it!
